15 Oct Borough of Madison (NJ) Downtown Redevelopment Plan
Dr. Blickstein worked with Planning Board members, stakeholders and the public to prepare an amendment to the Borough’s Land Use Element to address downtown revitalization opportunities, to promote sustainability and to better integrate transportation and land use planning for key revitalization opportunities within the Borough. Ordinance updates included crafting a new zoning district on the edge of the central business district based on TOD principles and incentives to encourage sustainable development/green building design techniques, revising CBD parking requirements to better reflect the multi-modal trip making patterns of residents and visitors, and work on a hybrid form-based code and Redevelopment Plan to support mixed-use, sustainable development at a former school site adjacent to the Borough’s NJ Transit rail line.
