As a recipient of a Hudson River Estuary Program Grant from NYSDEC, Vassar College has undertaken a Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GSI) Master Plan for the Vassar Barns property and development of a campus-wide policy and tools to support GSI measures on campus. SGB has worked collaboratively with Vassar College’s Environmental Cooperative and two other consultants to develop criteria for the Vassar Barns GIS Master Plan and pilot projects. SGB has led a team of Vassar staff on the campus component who are working to develop policy and decision making tools for the campus that will shift infrastructure investments and maintenance activities from conventional approaches to green approaches over time.
